Ozone hole very large in 2015

2015 has the third largest ozone hole on record. One has to go back to 2006 and 2000 to find a larger ozone hole area for this time period. This is due to a very strong polar vortex above Antarctic with extreme low temperatures. Despite the optimism in the past that the ozone hole would be ‘closed’ in the foreseeable future,  recovery might be doubtful, even at a longer time scale.
